This video
talks about Colombus day in US. People from United States, the second Monday of
every October, celebrates the day that Christopher Colombus discovered America
and commemorating the history of Native American peoples. But, not all the
people are agree with this type of celebration.
From one
hand, people who are against it, are indigenous and human rights, and they
question the legacy of Colombus day, because is not acknowledged and contains a
dark reality. Here arguments are that people who are living there before this
expedition, most of them died. These deaths were because of colonizers that
caused greats exterminations.
From the
other side, people who are agree with this national holiday, don’t go to work
or school. The argument that they defend this holiday are that thanks to this
discovery has knowledge advanced.
